Modes

Mode
Keyboard This is the mode making all work magically. Recommended. In batocera, it uses keyboardtopads.
DINPUT No trackball and no player2. Working partially and discouraged mode.
XINPUT This mode mimics 2 xbox 360 controllers. This mode is discouraged, cause batocera cannot differentiate from other xbox 360 pad.
Digital/Analog option The controllers have a dpad/apad option. It has no influence on the way the controller work. It exists for compatibly issues. It is nor required nor usefull in batocera

Mapping

Since version 41, batocera doesn't use xarcade2jstick anymore to handle these controllers.

A new tool, called keyboardtopads, more generic (supporting more controllers), supporting hotkeys and configurable via emulationstation was done.

L and R are mapped to the flipper buttons too, while by convention, in batocera, L et R are the flipper keys.

Note that you can have several controllers plugged, it will automatically recognize, 4, 6, 8 players, without any issue.

Default

The mapping for the buttons is command to all the controllers.

The other buttons are set depending of their numbers to batocera control center, exit, pause hotkeys.

Customizations

When you use mode Keyboard mode, keyboardtopads splits the xarcade into 3 devices : player1, player2 and hotkeys.

A default configuration was done in batocera, but you can customize it to do an other split by going into emulationstation menu > controllers menu > keyboardtopads.
