If you haven’t heard already, Kodi is available with Batocera. It’s been preinstalled and configured for controller support.

What is Kodi you ask?

Kodi is a free and open-source media player software application developed by the XBMC Foundation, a non-profit technology consortium. Kodi is available for multiple operating systems and hardware platforms, with a software 10-foot user interface for use with televisions and remote controls. It allows users to play and view most streaming media, such as videos, music, podcasts, and videos from the Internet, as well as all common digital media files from local and network storage media.

To launch Kodi, please follow the steps below.

1. Press start on your controller.

2. Hit “X” or “A”, depending on your controller. Usually it’s the bottom button, but the easiest way to remember is, that it’s the same button you use to launch games.

3. Now that you’ve hit the appropriate button, Kodi will launch.

The next question that you may ask is; “How do I exit Kodi and get back into Batocera’s game menu?

This is quite simple as well:

1. Press select to display the shutdown menu

or

1. Locate the “Circle” button with a horizontal line going through the top of the circle. It’s located next to the “Star” in the bottom left are of the screen.

2. Select that “Circle” button and select the “Exit” option.

3. You will now be back in the game area.
